Boot Carpet

After the Mazda had run out of electricity and I tried to jump it from the Cobra battery, I realised that the previous battery cover panel was stupid as it took me nearly 20 mins to access the battery. It was split top/bottom which was daft. The new design is split 60/40 with the kill switch on the 40% side. The boot floor panel was made and a panel for the shelf. The battery cover panel, shelf and boot panel all overlap so no rough carpet edges are shown.

The crease along the width of the boot floor is where I accidentally folded the carpet and sat on it. Hopefully it will iron flat.

The plan is to make the left hand panel that covers the battery with a piano hinge at the bottom for easy battery access.

Light Switch Wiring

For reference here is how I wired up my rotary 4 position light switch to have everything including fog lights on one switch. The diode from Fog to Main means that the main lights stay on when the switch is at the "Fog" position so you get Fog + Main, and it meets the IVA requirements that you can't turn on the fogs without the headlights on, and when you turn the headlights off the fog light must turn off.
